MTC, BCDC and BARC received a grant from Caltrans to conduct a vulnerability assessment and develop adaptation strategies for transportation assets (roads, rail, Bay Trail, etc), Priority Development Areas, Priority Conservation Areas and communities with characteristics that make them more vulnerable to sea level rise. The work conducted under the grant will serve as the basis for integrating this issue into the update to Plan Bay Area that occurs after the 2017 update. The total amount of money is $1.2 million and the duration is over 2 and 1/2 years. Work will begin in October 2016.
